Surviving Bloomington 2021

Our fourth season of Surviving Bloomington promised to be the most competitive yet. With a more intense casting process, only the most serious applicants received spots in the game.

With more serious contestants being involved, we were able to place a stronger emphasis on the donation phase for the 2021 game. And with all 16 contestants raising money for 2 1/2 months, Surviving Bloomington 2021 was able to raise over $10,000!! Which translated to a check for $9,000 being donated to help support local people experiencing homelessness!!

Once the weekend of the game rolled around, this new group of contestants brought the fire. They hit the ground running and never let off the gas, orchestrating devastating blindsides, intense challenge competitions, and behind-the-scenes stealth operations.

On top of intense game-play, the 2021 contestants experienced a dangerous thunderstorm and flood that lead to Surviving Bloomington’s first group evacuation!!

Despite the evacuation, the game never stopped. This group of contestants saw the game through to the end and no one quit.

After an intense weekend, the final three consisted of the contestants Peter, Bailey, and Boogie. With the Jury split 4-4 between Bailey and Boogie, Peter ultimately cast the deciding vote for Boogie to be our 2021 champion!

Boogie was a returning player (having played his first game in 2020), and the first person to win Surviving Bloomington on their second attempt. He said he was able to use his first experience to learn from his mistakes and magnify his successes. Boogie maneuvered his way through the game like a stealth bomber, always narrowly avoiding votes, and dropping finishing blows on his enemies before they could see it coming, until he found himself in the finals where his camp-life/social game could shine and bring him the win!

With the 2021 season wrapped up, we now look to our fifth game, which will be in the summer of 2022. With a roster of over 50 past contestants throughout four years, many of these past players are itching to play again. 2022 will be our first All-Star season. The only question is who will be invited back…
