Game Preparation

Surviving Bloomington is a local event in Bloomington, Indiana that’s designed to raise awareness and support for people experiencing homelessness in our community.

16-20 people spend a weekend in June on private property in central Indiana playing a game based off the reality television show Survivor where they live together, compete in challenges, form alliances, solve riddles, and vote each other out until there is only one player left, who is then our champion!

Players will attempt to raise money to help support people experiencing homelessness prior to the game’s start. The contestants who raise the most money before the game starts will receive advantages to potentially help them progress through the game, so try and raise as much as you can!

Players will gain the opportunity to work closely with others, make new friends, build confidence, step outside their comfort zone, and experience important self reflection.

And more importantly, this is an opportunity to spread awareness and empathy for people in Bloomington experiencing homelessness, so no matter what place a player comes in, we are all participating in this event for a greater purpose!
